What happens when an entire generation comes undone?
Danielle Martino hitches a greyhound bus to New York City to save her one good eye, after shooting bad heroin, only to find herself facing even more adversity from day one. As she is admitted into Bellevue for several weeks of eye surgeries, upon her discharge she enters Safe Haven Village; NYC's NOTORIOUS intensive rehabilitation center, most known for housing felons, homeless patrons, and the mentally ill who suffer from addiction.
In this book, we witness Danielle's struggle to stay sober, as she pushes needle and heroin use to the side, but cannot shake her other addictions; self mutilation, pain, love, attention, and dabbling in "recreational" drug use. |
